Actress and model
China Chow's Japanese/German mother was
the late model/designer Tina Chow (who died to AIDS in 1992) and her
Chinese/English father is restaurateur Michael Chow, and has a younger brother
Maximilian, and a younger half-sister Asia. Niece of actress Tsai Chin. China holds a B.A. in Psychology from Scripps College. She spent several years as a model, following in her mother's footsteps. She modeled for Shiseido cosmetics in Japan, and was seen on billboards for Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein, Her acting debut was in "The Big Hit" (1998) as Keiko Nishi. It co-starred Mark Wahlberg, whom she is rumored to be dating. China was named one of Harper's Bazaar's "It Girls" in 1996, and was named in the December 1996 edition of Vogue magazine's "The Next Best-Dressed List". China currently divides her time between New York, NY and Los Angeles, CA. |
